Red Status Light

Postby Chris Shoe » Nov 29th, '13, 20:35

I just bought a G-Connect. All lights come on white but after about 3 minutes the status light turns red. Can anyone tell me what this means. I go though set up but nothing seems to work. Please HELP...

Hi Chris,

Thanks for posting. You can try updating the firmware for the unit to see if it resolves the issue.
First turn the unit off.
Connect an ethernet cable to the unit.
Turn the unit on, once the status light comes on press and hold the wifi button (the little button next to the power button)
Watch the orange and green lights on the ethernet port, they will turn off, keep holding the wifi button.
Once the lights turn back on release the wifi button.
The status light and wifi light should start alternating back and forth.
This process will take about 15 minutes while it downloads the latest firmware and applys it to the unit.
When the lights go solid again the process has finished.
Regards

Hi Chris.

If the firmware update was unable to resolve the issue I would recommend exchanging it at the point of purchase since it was just bought.
