G-Raid w/ Thunderbolt connected with 2 Mac

Postby Suelabbe » Apr 9th, '14, 06:33

Hello,

We have connected the G-Raid with 2 Mac computers, 1 iMac and 1 Mac Pro (Quad-Core and Dual). The iMac sees the G-Raid but not the Mac Pro. We tried to exchange thunderbolt cables and we have checked with the Disk utility program but nothing... Is it possible to connect 2 Mac computers with the G-Raid ?

Hi Suelabbe,

Thanks for posting. The G-Raid Thunderbolt can connect to only one computer at a time. The dual thunderbolt is meant to daisychain other thunderbolt devices. If you wish for multiple computers to read the drive at the same time you will need to map it as a network drive on one of the computers so the other can access it over the local network. This is not a function we support as it is a more advanced function of the operating system.
Regards

Thanks for your reply.

We have another G-Raid already setup with our network. We will use this one with the Mac Pro.
