G-Drive 1TB Wouldn't Mount, Mounted, Then Disppeared

Postby spipenge » Mar 28th, '14, 09:07

I tried to plug my drive using FW800(?). At first it wouldn't mount...I can hear it running I think. Then I rebooted my macbook pro (running iOS 10.9.2). It appeared for about 5 seconds and disappeared again. Any thoughts? If I have a bad drive, is there a way to recover information from it? Thanks.

Hi spipenge,

Thanks for posting. Does the drive have the same trouble via usb? If it does you may also want to double check the power adpater. If this is a generation 4 which is the most common for 1TB g-drive the power adapter should have a output of 12V 2A. Please let me know.
Regards

Funny you should ask that. I tried a USB 2.0 cable. Worked swimmingly. Thanks for the quick response.
