message says drive was not properly ejected.

Postby Dan » May 31st, '14, 20:23

My New G-drive pro is connected by firewire to my macbook pro. Whenever I return, the mesage says that the drive was no properly ejected. I did not disconnect it, just that the macbook pro went idle.

What do I do to prevent this "not ejected properly" problem?

Hi Dan,

Thanks for posting. For clarity, the g-drive pro is a thunderbolt only drive. The regular g-drive would have usb, firewire, and depending on the generation also esata. If you are connecting the standard model via firewire, and the drive only ejects like that after the computer comes out of sleep that sounds like an issue apple has on some versions of mac. This happened with numerous firewire drives. I would suggest to contact apple.
