G-DRIVE ev ejects

Postby brm » Dec 26th, '13, 22:59

I keep on getting the prompt "Disc Not Ejected Properly"...
But I haven't ejected the disk and it's still connected.

Running the latest 13" Retina Macbook with Maverick OS.
Disks were formatted prior to use using Apple Disk Utility...Journaled HFS Plus...
Disk Permissions are verified.. no repairs needed...
Using the Thunderbolt connection that came with the dock. Tried it with another disk. Works fine.

Any thoughts?

Hi brm,

Thanks for posting. For clarity, one of your G-drive ev modules when being used in the dock is self ejecting but other ev modules in the same slot work fine?

Allegedly both docks are self ejecting according to the prompt.
However both remain on the desktop and apparently function normally.

Hi brm,

Is this occurring randomly or is it happening when the computer comes out of sleep? Have you been using the g-dock assistant on your system with it?

Was happening randomly. I've installed the g-dock assistant a couple of days ago. No instances since then. Could have solved the problem...

The problem continues. Both drives "eject" when my computer wakes up from sleep.
Now, I can't simply re-dock them in the bay for them to come back i.e. Disc Utility can't see them.So I have to pull the firewire connector out of the computer and reconnect.

Is this a Mavericks thing or do I have a defective drive?

Hi brm,

If it is occuring only when the computer comes out of sleep that is an issue that is sometimes seen with macs on 10.8 and sometimes in 10.9. You should speak to apple to see if they have a solution for it.
