Windows 8 compatibility

Postby driffert » Jun 12th, '14, 19:03

After buying the g-connect I discover that it is not compatible with Windows 8. How can I copy content from my Windows 8 computer to the g-connect. If I can't do that this device is worthless to me. I had hoped to store content from my computer on this device so I could access with my ipad. Will this device ever work with Windows 8

Hi driffert,

Thanks for posting. The G-Connect was discontinued before Windows 8 was released. We expect that it should work with most Windows 8 systems, but do not have any suggestions if it not working on a particular system.

I wonder driffert, what exactly does this mean? How is it not compatible?

If you plug it-in to the W8 PC as a FAT32 USB drive, you should be able to copy content across with no problem--it's just like any other USB device. Nor can I imagine why any of the other modes won't work, though those aren't recommended anyway.
