Restore to original factory settings

Postby Freddie_Mentz » Mar 16th, '14, 08:08

Hi, please help....I recently encrypted the drive using Bitlocker (due to security requirements) however this resulted in the drive no longer being accessible for IOS devices and status light remained red. I reformatted drive but how do I restore all original factory settings and configurations?

Hi Freddie_Mentz,

Thanks for posting. A factory reset can be performed by with the unit on holding the wifi button (small button next to the power button) for about 10 seconds until the status light starts to blink. However I do not believe this will be able to remove the encryption set by bitlocker. The encryption must be removed using the bitlocker utility within windows.
Regards

Thank you, I did a format of the drive which removed the encryption/Bitlocker elements. I applied the reset thereafter as suggested and it seems like it has restored the settings. I can now copy stuff to the drive and are able to view these via WiFi connection.
