4TB Drive Support

Postby dcrabtree11207 » Jul 9th, '14, 05:34

I have a G-Safe, p/n 0G00239 and the LCD startup screen reads GEN4 V100.1209. Will it support 4TB drivers? Thanks.

Hi dcrabtree11207,

Thanks for posting. That firmware version will not support 4TB drives. However since you have a Gen 4 unit you can upgrade the firmware to enable large drive support. The firmware update must be performed over the usb connection. The link I am providing will contain the firmware, update application and instructions.

Hi,

I forgot to specify that I'm using this on a MacBook running OS 10.9.4. The file that I downloaded is an EXE for a PC. Is there a Mac version or do I need to borrow a laptop to do the upgrade? Thanks.

Hi dcrabtree11207,

I checked, it seems we only have the windows updater for the g-safe firmware. You will need to use a windows computer to update the firmware.
