best way to handle external backup

Postby socrbob » Nov 16th, '13, 12:05

Hi, I am using my 500gb hd as an external backup. I only backup every other day. Is there a way to eject and shut down my hard drive using commands. Or do I have to physically disconnect the hard drive each time?

Hi socrbob,

Thanks for posting. There is a keyboard command to eject the drive from the system but the g-drive mobile is a bus powered drive so it will not fully be off until the drive is disconnected from the system. You can eject it by clicking on the icon once on the desktop to select it then hold down command and press e.
