Is it okay to leave my external drive turned on all the time?

There is no negative effect to leaving your hard drive turned on. There is also no benefit to turning off, other than saving electricity. It is a personal preference depending on your needs.

Thunderbolt in an input/output hardware interface, developed by Intel in cooperation with Apple, which allows for external devices to be connected to a computer.
