G-SPEED Q LED Visual Notifications

The G-SPEED Q has LED lights to indicate the status of the unit.

Power-on LED Sequence

On power up of the G-SPEED Q, the activity lights will blink, alternating between amber and blue. The Temperature Warning LED will also blink. This should happen for approx. 30-45 seconds, and then the drive activity lights will stay solid blue, while the Temperature Warning LED will continue to blink for another 15-30 seconds.

Failed Drive

SOLID AMBER Drive Activity LED A failed drive will be lit up Solid Amber. This drive will need to be replaced. Please follow the instructions for Rebuilding your G-SPEED Q RAID

Rebuilding RAID

BLINKING AMBER/BLUE Single Drive Activity LED
BLINKING RED Temperature Warning LED

This sequence indicates that the G-SPEED Q is currently in the process of rebuilding the RAID set after a failed drive has been replaced. This process can take up 2 hours per TB.

Component Failure

SOLID RED Temperature Warning Light
If the red warning light is lit, there is a failure of one of the internal components. Stop use of the unit and contact G-Technology Technical Support.
