I get "Delayed Write Failed" error when transferring files to/from my G-Technology drive on WinXP

There is a known issue with Windows XP, follow the link below for more information from the Microsoft KB.

On Windows I can't initialize my G-Technology hard drive. Disk Management says it is a "GPT Protective Partition."
