My G-SPEED Sometimes Will Not Mount

In most cases the G-SPEED auto detects the speed of the fiber channel connection, however sometimes it does not, causing the volume not to mount.

Solution: Make sure you have the latest driver for your Fibre Channel HBA. We reccomend ATTO Celerity Host Bus Adapters.

1) Download the latest ATTO Drivers here:
https://www.attotech.com/software/index.html

2) Hard set the Fibre Channel speed of the G-SPEED to match your HBA's speed. (If you are using an ATTO Celerity 4x HBA, set the
G-SPEED's Fibre Channel port speed to 4Gb) To do this, access the
G-SPEED GUI via your browser and click on the "Fiber Channel Config" link on the left NAV Bar. Set the speed of Port 0 to 4Gb using the drop down menu. (G-SPEED is setup to use port 0 by default)

Also, in ATTO's Configuration Tool make sure that the data rate speed and the connection mode is set to Arbitrated Loop  so that the settings match that of your G-Speeds GUI's Fiber Channel Config page.

For more information on using the G-SPEED GUI consult the product manual.

What is Thunderbolt?
Thunderbolt in an input/output hardware interface, developed by Intel in cooperation with Apple, which allows for external devices to be connected to a computer. Thunderbolt combines PCI Express and DisplayPort, as well as a DC connector for power, in a single connection, passing through a single Thunderbolt cable. You can daisy chain up to 6 peripherals, like storage devices and monitors. You can also connect USB and FireWire devices to the Thunderbolt port, provided that you have the proper adapter, but the speed you will get will still be USB or FireWire speeds, depending on what device you are connecting.  ...
